Для меня осталась неясной основная идея рассказа. Что хотела донести автор? Подзаголовок "криминальный" претендует на интригу, но ее нет.

Кто-то нашёл в рассказе интригу, кто-то нет, - так и должно быть, а "криминальный" добавлено так, для пущей важности.
